Please note that there are circumstances where contact between parent and child is not possible, especially when safety concerns exist, making it unsafe for the parent and child to contact one another, or when restraining orders or court orders are in place that do not permit contact. These situations will not prevent parents from learning about coercive control, PABs, and the alienated child's perspective, or preparing to reunite when it is safe to do so, or if and when orders permit contact later.

This serious form of abuse and family violence can no longer be ignored. Parental alienating behaviours must be acknowledged in Australia as it is in other parts of the world. We need legislation that not only acknowledges its existence but firmly and clearly legislates against it.
