Amanda Sillars has the lived experience of being alienated from her mother during childhood, losing her mother to suicide as a result. She later experienced alienation from her own children in adulthood, a journey that has since led to their successful reunification. Through this deeply personal experience, Amanda has supported countless individuals impacted by trauma, parent-child coercion, alienation, and parental child abduction, offering help through support groups, education, and advocacy.
Holding a Bachelor of Psychological Science (BPsycSc) and grounded in current research, Amanda extends her impact through multiple social media channels and as the driving force behind the Eeny Meeny Miney Mo Foundation. She shares vital knowledge with practitioners and alienated family members, shedding light on the dynamics at play. She provides actionable strategies that prioritise family integration, offering clear guidance to help families reunite and rebuild their relationships in a child-focused and compassionate way. This serious form of abuse and family violence can no longer be ignored. Parental alienating behaviours must be acknowledged in Australia as it is in other parts of the world. We need legislation that not only acknowledges its existence but firmly and clearly legislates against it.
